Back in 2000, when the dot bombs were buying the ePoS companies in the golf industry, I decided it was time to cease managing sales teams and move into consulting. At that time, I formed a company called Retail Business 101, Inc. to work with golf shops, specialty retail and software companies that needed help in developing the proper tools for inventory management.
This year, 2007, I was approached about working with a couple of organizations, focusing on the business of golf. In these businesses, we are bringing together groups of experts in golf to help golf courses better manage their business. So now I have formed My Golf Retail Guru.
The biggest problem in golf systems is that they are big on details and short on quality. That approach is completely backwards and I suggest you read the blog on “Retail Isn”t Detail” for further information.
